Namaste Devo,
Now that you raise this issue, it reminds me that the rules the forum have a bit less comprehensive and need to be expanded a bit, in an intuitive format which will appeal to the user and let him easily absorb them. To elaborate, take a look at these two descriptions of a Creative Commons license:

Namaste Nithin,
Thank you for providing those two examples and I understand what you're saying, but I think the few rules/policies that govern the forum is to-the-point, and self explanatory.
What policy or rule do you think should be elaborated or expanded furthur? ..
Your suggestions are always welcome, and I am sure Shishya will take them into consideration.
Namaste,
Devo. |

Namaste Devo,
Most likely what I say below will make no sense as this is an issue I get 'philosophical' over, but I will try explain it nevertheless :

Yes, but that doesn't mean they're easily understood. As you can see, most, including myself, do not adhere to the rules. The reason? Reading text is something majority of the society does not get used to.
When you want to be specific, make them self-explanatory
But when you want to convey a message, make them 'clear'

From what I know, make them 'feel the reason' behind the rule. Although this is coming from someone who was in his past days, unanimously considered most-difficult-to-understand forum member, I can say it is out of experience...
As for expansion, I feel the rules regarding post format can be elaborated as to how to post quotes, images, recommended signatures [I totally disagree with Shishya for considering the signature section not meant for images, that section is meant for art!]

The reason I stay quiet regarding these things these days is because it will carry on as a long-winded discussion, as until my view is properly understood (whether he will implement it or not, is less of my concern) by the other person I wont stop. Nevertheless I'm never interested in "suggesting" to others - it hurts my ego _________________

I know, which is why I'm angry at you Although I have different reasons, I'm not too sentimentally attached to the signatures so... I have no probs.
Regarding the images, quotes, etcetera... - for the time being, I simply wish to say, the style of presentation needs to be changed. No one enjoys abiding to rules unless they can feel them [atleast that goes with most of the people I know]. This is difficult to explain over a forum, a chat would actually do. And no, sorry, I wouldn't try to post any formatted message or so whatsoever - some of the things I've spawned are voted the most difficult to read. On the other hand I can rather explain how I'd like to see it, in simple words I prefer to discuss (thus, an instant chat) about it.. _________________
