I dont see why there cannot be life on other planets. But I also cannot see why they should be primitive man-eaters or super advanced. Nor do I understand why they should be either grey men or little green men. They most likely are no diff than us.. _________________

ok ok so I was the one who voted "I am an alien"
But I agree with PD, life on other planets may not necessarily be "little green" men, super advance or primitive.
If they were super advanced, then perhaps they would have made contact with us, or perhaps they did and we're not aware. Area 51 anyone? |

Area 51... Other than it being a prohibited place what exactly is in support of being some alien thing? I prefer the other 'supersonic aircraft' explanation.. But america seriously was retard to say in the 60's to say the crashed object was a UFO one day and weather balloon the next day! _________________

Namaste,
I think there is life on other planets. It might be in a different form, but I think it is statistically impossible for the rest of the universe to be devoid of life. Besides, it would be an incredible waste of space.
Here's what Swamiji had to say on the subject:
| Swamiji wrote: | Question: Are they (the sun, moon and stars) inhabited by man and other living creatures or not?
Swamiji: They are worlds inhabited by men and other living beings. The Shatpatha Braahmana says:
"The earth, the waters, the heated bodies, space, the moon, the sun, and the other planets are all called vasus or abodes because they are abodes of living beings as well as of inanimate objects."
-Shatpatha Braahmana 14:6, 9, 4
When the sun, the moon and other planets are abodes like our earth, what doubt can there be in their being inhabited? When this little earth of God is full of men and other living beings, can it ever be possible that all other worlds are void (of the same)? How can myriads of other worlds be of any use unless they are inhabited by men and other beings? It follows, therefore, that they are inhabited.
Question: Do they have the same bodies? Would men and other living beings in the other worlds have the same kind of bodies and bodily organs as they have here or different?
Swamiji: Most likely there is some difference in their form and the like, just as you see some difference in form, countenance, appearance and complexion among people of different countries as the Ethiopeans, Chinese, the Indians and the Europeans. But the creation of the same class or species on this earth and other planets is identical. The class or species that has its sense organs (such as eyes) in some definite place in the body here (on this planet) will have them in the same place on other planets. For it is said in the Veda:
"Just as God created the sun, the moon, the earth, and other planets and the objects therein in the previous cycles of Creation, the same has He done in the present Creation."
-Rig Veda X:190
He does not make any alteration.
Question: Are the same Vedas revealed in the other worlds as in this?
Swamiji: Yes. Just as the policy of a king is the same in all the countries under his rule, so is the Vedic system of Government of the King of kings (God) the same in all the worlds over which He rules. |

Namaste Prabhat,
'Most likely' is roughly "zeer waarschijnlijk" in Dutch. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste Prabhat,
It's more in the sense of 'there is a high probability'. ("Eine hohe Warhsheinlichkeit" in German.) But no, there is no 100% certainty. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste,
I believe, that there are other life forms in this universe, as I believe, there is a God.
They may not look like us, or act the way we do. Their evolution may be influenced quite differently, depending on the geological make-up of their respective habitats. |

Namaste Prabhat,
| You wrote: | | But suppose they find something. What does that tell us about the Vedas? Or are the Vedas only for humans/animals on earth? |
That's what Swamiji was saying when he wrote:

Swamiji: Yes. Just as the policy of a king is the same in all the countries under his rule, so is the Vedic system of Government of the King of kings (God) the same in all the worlds over which He rules. |
Vedic Wisdom is not just valid for 'earthlings'. It is valid throughout the entire cosmos. All beings will be subject to the cycle of death and rebirth, and will be seeking after release from suffering, for example. And if there is intelligent life out there, then just as sure as God is merciful to His creatures, He will have given them the Vedas as well. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste,
Like Shish said, the Vedas are Universally bound, and not just limited to Earth.
Lol!. When we say 'Krinvanto Vishwam Aaryam' - 'Making the Universe Noble' - we literally mean, the entire Universe. |

Namaste Prabhat,
Literally, vishvam means 'all this'. It can be interpreted to mean 'world' or 'universe'. In fact, however, it really means 'everything'. _________________ Namaste,
