When Dayananda was busy preparing the revised edition of Satyarthprakash (Light of Truth), it was a public debate whether Allopanishad was a part of Atharva Veda or not. Some Muslims were claiming that at that time. Dayananda also came across one such article in some paper and he therefore decided to clarify and remove this delusion too. So in the last portion of the 14th chapter of his book, he addressed this issue and mentioned that there is not a word about Mohammedan sect in Atharva Veda and nowhere name of Prophet Muhammad is mentioned in it. Dayananda wrote: “We surprise that some one wrote it (Allopanishad) in the reign of the Emperor Akbar. Its author appears to have been a man who knew a little of Sanskrit and Arabic, because in its text both Sanskrit and Arabic words are used. For example, the Arabic words Asmallam Ille and the Sanskrit words Mitra and Varuna are there in the above passage and the same is seen throughout the whole book. If we look to its meaning, it is altogether artificial, unsound and opposed to the teachings of the Veda (while the construction of words and sentences is quite ungrammatical). The followers of other creeds who are blinded by bigotry have also likewise forged Upanishads such as Swoop Upanishad, Narsinhatapni, Ramtapni, Gopal tapni.”

You may refer ‘Light of Truth’ - 14th chapter, last topic. You will get the complete idea there in a clearer terms. It has been observed that majority of sects & schools of thought try to establish that their sect / philosophy are very very old. Even Jains are claiming that their sect is older than Vedas! Similar attempts were made to show that the origin of Islam could be traced out from the Atharva Veda. Dayananda has exposed such baseless claim.

I think I shall not be able to further simplify this. Someone of our friends can do it to help you.
