All objects created by God are His signs - in Vedas they are called ketav. Just like a pointer or a flag, they indicate the existence of God.

The Earth itself is a created inert object. It is created by God. The Earth being inert cannot create anything with some purpose. Therefore there could be no works (creations with intentions) of Earth. There are only two agencies - God and Soul(s) who can create with some purpose. Efficient causes (doers) are only two - God and / or Soul(s). As such, Vedic philosophy as explained by Dayananda is very simple & direct - easy to understand.
