Namaste all
oke i found something.
As one can see from the above discussion that the sanskar of vivah (marriage) is distinct from that of Garbhadhan. The sanskar is defined in the scriptures as follows ( jaimini sutra).
That action which makes any thing or anybody eligible for doing a particular act is called sanskar or संस्कारो नाम स भवति यस्मिज्जाते पदार्थो भवति कस्यचिदर्थस्य ॥
Vivah or marriage in Hindus is not only a contract but a sanskar and therfore it cannot be reversed and therefore there is no Sanskrit equivalent of the word "Divorce".
What is vivah sanskar? Vivah is that sanskar by which man and his wife resolve to transform physical attraction (vasana) into love (prem) , love into worship (bhakti) and worship into sacrifice (tyaga). When the couple is comfortable that such graduation of emotions is possible they perform Garbhadhan and seek Indra's blessings for the progeny.
When couple candidly confesses that such graduation in emotions is not possible due to circumstances (external, physiological or mental) Crown can reverse the marriage.
This is the wisdom and strength of Hindu (or Vedic) marriage.

Good you mentioned that...
Actually, Manu Smrti from what I can remember, doesn't allow divorces of a couple. It requires some idealistic conditions before the marriage takes place first off, so the divorce is not an issue there. However, it allows seperation from husband if they have not been in contact for (?) years. Artha Shaastra however says that if both the husband and wife consent to seperation, they can indeed divorce each other. _________________

Namaste Sunita,
I understand that this may be a sensitive issue for you, but unfortunately it is a topic that many people need to discuss and inform themselves about. Therefore I will leave the discussion open for those who may be interested. However, you are free to ignore the thread altogether. I don't think anyone will expect you to respond if it bothers you.
***
Everyone else can check out the thread on Sanskaars for information relating to spousal separation as mentioned in Manu Smriti. To summarize:
Marriage as a Sanskaar is therefore unable to be reversed. However, mutually consenting spouses can separate from one another, though they are not free to marry again. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste Prabhat,
To the possible extent i will try to make people together rather than seperating them because unity is strength i feel that i'm a good counscelor i make people understand the problem and ask them to look for a solution to the problem rather than making a new problem by sperating but in this case the person suffering will be their childern. |

if something happens in front of you, you should help.
but we are talking abouth, if someone has a problem you should noy force them to speak about it, you have to give them time. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste Prabhat,
Vivaha is the word for the marriage ceremony. According to my sources, the correct legal term is striipurushaviccheda, lit. 'wife' or 'woman' (strii) - 'man' or 'husband' (purusha) - 'separation', 'division' or 'divorce' (viccheda). I imagine one could simply say viccheda for short. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste.
i was ask can a hindoe woman mary again. after a divorce or if her husband die.
and i found this in the Satyarht Prakash, page 130
i read: Re-marriage involves loss of true conjugal love and infraction of duty towards the departed husband or wife.
For these reasons, re-marriage, polygamy and polyandry are prohibited in the case of the twice born.
what dos twice born mean?
Q. ~ If one of the parties dies leaving no male issue, even then the family line will become extinct. Besides, if re-marriage be not allowed, the widows and widowers will resort to adultery and fornication, procure abortion, and will commit wicked deeds of a kindred nature. For these reasons re-marriage is desirable.
A. ~ No. If the widows and widowers desire to practice Brahmacharya, no such evil consequences will accrue. Again, if the widow or widower adopts a boy of her and his Class, the family line will be continued and there will be no danger of adultery being restored to. Those, however, who cannot control their passions may beget children by having recourse to Niyoga.
and whats Niyoga???? _________________ Namaste,

Namaste!
I decided to respond to this thread. I realised that we are not allowed to remarry in vaidik dharma. I think this law should change because i believe that people should get second chances in life.
Our soul is just in a body. When we die and reincarnate its just a different body but the soul is the same and we are free to go through the sanskars in life. Why wait to reincarnate? This law is not fair.....its like punishing a person for their marriage failure.
It also encourage adultery, sucide and change of religion. People will go where they are mostly accepted. In islaam, a man or woman can be married to more than one partner. Our books tells us we only have one chance and one partner. What should young divorce people do?
Not everybody going to wait until they die..the scriptures encourage us to die faster. _________________ Namaste!
