Namaste to All Members,
First, I would like to say how pleased I am with how well the forum is doing. We have quite a few regular members posting interesting questions and engaging in productive discussions. As Administrator, that makes me quite happy, and I would like to thank you all for that.
Second, I would like to say a few words regarding the role the forum plays as far as the internet is concerned. As you may have noticed, we get visitors from all around the world - many of whom stop by just to read our discussions. No, they don't post, but they do come here looking for interesting discussion and ideas.
With this in mind, I would like everyone to spend a few moments thinking about the image of the forum and the quality of the material we post here. Most of the time we do a good job of representing the Arya Samaj community. However there are occasions where we could do much better. Therefore, I would like to present a few helpful guidelines in Forum Etiquette:
- Before you post, think of the other people coming here. Would they want to read through what you are posting?
- If you want to request clarification from a particular member regarding a comment he or she has made, try sending a personal message instead of posting in an otherwise public thread.
- Try to keep posts like "O.K. Thanks" to a minimum. If you want to thank the person, that's fine, but try and add a bit more content. If you can't add anything, send a PM expressing your thanks.
- Keep your posts interesting and on-topic. It's fine if you have to go off-topic for a moment to explain something, but before ending your post, try and bring it back to the topic at hand.
- Please follow the guidelines of the particular forum you are posting in. For example, in the Q&A Forum, it is preferred if the title of your thread is a concrete question instead of a general topic. If you want to discuss a general topic, it would be best to put it in the General Discussion Forum.
If you keep these few rules in mind, then I'm sure the forum will continue to be a great resource for people searching the internet for information on Vaidik Dharm and the Arya Samaj. _________________ Namaste,
