Namaste,
I was talking with my host recently and he suggested that I consider eliminating some of our 50 odd non-posting members or 'lurkers' (as they are sometimes referred to in forum administrator lingo). This can help improve server performance, as unused accounts take up a surprising amount of space on the hard drive.
If I did decide to prune them off the list, I would first send out a mass e-mail informing everyone that they will be required to post at least a reponse to their welcome message. If they fail to do this within two weeks of signing up, their account would be deleted. Of course, they would be free to sign up again at any time.
What do you think? A good move? A bad one? Thoughts and/or comments would be most appreciated...
