I was reading some book on vedas and there I read that eating "stale" food and not eating freshly cooked food, is tamsic and it is kept in the same category as eating meat. I understand this and sort of accept it too.
Lifestyle in USA does not allow you to cook everyday. Normally we cook on a weekend and then eat over the week. We follow a strict vegetarian diet as made possible here in USA. The way I reason this is that vedas did not take into account the technology advancement that we have right now in the field of refrigeration. Given the reliability of electricity and freezers, I think its OK to freeze and eat.
What do my other arya gan feel and think about this?[/b] |

I do not agree with the view point
Eating frozen food is different from eating meat
Killing animals for food is called HIMSA. It is cruelly and against the Vedic tenets
There are vegetarian foods, which are tamasic, satwic and rajaswic. Your opinion of eating "stale" food is tamasic may be true. But do not compare it with eating meat. Both are not similar to be compared.
Therefore my opinion is in line with you in that, it is OK to freeze and eat. It is very much higher than eating meat.
