Namaste,
As our forum is growing at a fairly steady pace, it is becoming more and more difficult for me to manage everything by myself. Therefore, I am happy to announce that the following Moderator Positions are open for applications.
***
World News Forum Moderator
Specific Responsibilities:
-Searching the internet for world news articles which have potential to interest a general audience.
-Posting these articles according to the News Forum Format*.
-Posting between one and five good articles a week. They needn’t be daily, but that would be ideal.
Arya Samaj Community News Forum Moderator
Specific Responsibilities:
-Keeping us up to date on community events, i.e. posting articles and/or links to events around the world relevant for Aryas.
-Listing any relevant contact information.
-Posting pictures would be a nice touch.
Bharat News Forum Moderator (Currently Mitra)
Specific Responsibilities:
-Searching the internet for news articles from or related to India.
-Posting these articles according to the News Forum Format*.
-Posting at least one good article a week. More would be appreciated, but not necessary.
Non-Vedic Religious Forum Moderator
Specific Responsibilities:
-Searching the internet for news articles related to Non-Vedic religions (i.e. Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Jainism, etc.).
-Posting these articles according to the News Forum Format*.
-Posting at least one good article a week. More would be appreciated, but not necessary.
General Discussion Forum Moderator (Currently Devo)
Specific Responsibilities:
-Trying to answer any Arya Samaj-related questions in a positive, informative way.
-Keeping discussions lively and productive.
Off-Topic Forum Moderator (Currently Devo)
Specific Responsibilities:
-Making sure topics in the Forum really are ‘off-topic’, i.e. moving any good, Arya Samaj-related discussions to the General Discussion Forum.
Arya Ladies Forum Moderator (Currently Sunita)
Specific Responsibilities:
-Searching the internet for articles relevant and interesting to our female members. Though not necessary, it is requested that such articles be posted according to the News Forum Format*.
-Posting these articles according to the News Forum Format.
-Posting at least one good article a week. More would be appreciated, but not necessary.
Fun Forum Moderator
Specific Responsibilities:
-Starting and maintaining funny, entertaining activities and/or text-based games.
-Writing clear directions to each of the activities or games.
-Making sure that members follow the rules to the games.
In addition to these specific responsibilities, Moderators also have a few general responsibilities:
General Moderator Responsibilities:
-Making sure that the Forum Policies and Rules are observed at all times.
-Making sure that any discussions which take place in the associated threads stay more or less on the original topic.
-Removing any spam or off-topic posts from the forum. Threads can also be split, whereby the new thread should be placed in the General Discussion Forum under an appropriate title.
***
If you would like to apply for one or more of these positions, please post a message below indicating this. Alternately, if you are currently a moderator, feel overwhelmed with the new job description and would like to relenquish your post, a short message indicating this would also be appropriate.
If you decide to take up one of these positions, you will be added to the new Moderator Group and will receive a rank-title specific to your task which will be visible in your profile.
*New Moderators can find a guide to the News Forum Format in the Moderator Forum. _________________ Namaste,

Namaste Shishya ,
I would like to put in some work for the Bharat News forum. I do browse all major newspapers daily so it will be put to some good use.
The link which you put at the end to modeartors forum isnt working fine i guess. Says the forum doesnt exist.
Thanks,
Mitra. |
