The Following was extracted from 'The Lost Years of Jesus', a documnetary evidence of Jesus' 17-year journey to the East, and written by Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
| Quote: | The Gospels record Jesus age twelve in the temple. The about age thirty at the river Jordan. That leaves approximately seventeen years un-accounted for.
During those so-called lost years, the child "increased in wisdom and stature," as Luke wrote. But was it in the carpenter shop at Nazareth?
According to ancient Tibetan manuscripts, Jesus secretly withdrew from the home of Mary and Jospeh at age thirteen. Young "Issa" joined a merchant caravan. Destination: India and the Himalayas.
At Juggernaut, "the white priests of Brahma made him a joyous welcome. They taught him to read and understand the Vedas, to cure by aid of prayer, to teach, to explain the holy scriptures to the people, and to drive out evil spirits from the bodies of men." |
What are you thoughts, Views or comments on the above quotation? |

I have heard this in Guyana very generally but never had any specifics or proof. Very interesting, Devo. It makes me think a lot. Thanks for sharing it . _________________ Krinvanto Vishvam Aaryam

Namaste All,
If the above quote were true, then - as I said in a different but related thread - Jesus didn't do a very good job of spreading the Wisdom of the Vedas. In fact, based on the track-record of the Christian Church, he must be ranked as one of the worst teachers of all time. Even if he taught Vedic Truths, he must have taught them in such a way as to make them completely unintelligible to his students. _________________ Namaste,

What Shishya means to say is that very few have recognised vedic teachings in the bible, thus jesus taught his disciples in a wrong fashion. _________________

Namaste Prabhat,
What I meant was this: If we suppose Jesus was actually teaching Vedic Wisdom to his followers, then the fact that the Christian world today views itself as standing in opposition to Vedic Wisdom indicates that somewhere along the line Jesus' message was completely lost - despite the survival of the Bible. Perhaps if he had used more direct teachings and less secretive parables he would have been more successful in making the truth apparent to his (future) followers. _________________ Namaste,

My Minister friend tells me that Jesus was educated from the Old Testament. It was impossible for Jesus to have vedic Wisdom.
I don't have an indepth knowledge into Christian scriptures, any takes?

If jesus was indeed educated from old testament, then many others could've also accomplished the job. As for his coming to india, it is definitely possible: I remember aurobindo saying that he found his impressions at a buddhist stupa where he's supposed to have learnt yoga, etc... according to the journals there. Its 13 to 31 years i.e., 18 years, within that much of time he definitely could've come to india and went back. They rely on scriptural evidence from what I've seen, what I fail to understand is that they're dealing with four accounts of same jesus that are almost incompatible with each other's _________________
