Hi Shisya, this is a great forum you are running over here. And as a result of this forum I was able to learn a lot about Maharishi Dayananda Saraswati and the Arya Samaj.

However I must say that I found this forum by accident.

You certainly don't find this forum when you google 'arya samaj forums', and considering the quality of this forum, I think this forum should be at the top of the list.

This would definetely allow many others to access this forum easily and benefit from its features.

Namaste,

Maybe I didn't word the question very well. As opposed to the other question referred to, this one was directed at finding out how people came to the Arya Samaj the organization - not this particular forum. I am currently discussing the topic of engaging others in dialogue on an Arya Samaj mailing list, and was looking to see how many of us learned about Vaidika Dharma through contact and/or discussion with another person - the idea being to try and get an idea of whether or not such an approach has ever been successful to date.

As an interesting note, I recently received an email through the Arya Samaj 101 site from a young man in the U.S. who is serious about joining the Arya Samaj and becoming a practicioner of Vaidika Dharma. So, I guess that little bit of 'passive pravachan' is doing some good somewhere...Very Happy

I came to know about Aryasamaj not from Aryasamaj, but from a Satsang of Vedic Lovers. I found that Aryasamaj is not easily accessible like Other religious groups.

The greatest mystery comes to my mind is that, How come an organisation with such a logical and rational views and philosophies of life is having a very low or is generally unknown to the ppl. It has greatest potential for marrying rationalism and logic into Religion. The philosophy of Trithavad seems to be the best philosophical answer to life. Even then there is not much activities of Aryasamaj or the philosophy in the national or international sphers of life. Looks really mischievous. It is generally unknown to common ppl ! ! !

It appears Mr. Ajit is highly impressed with the philosophy of Aryasamaj. Yes, it is very simple, direct, convincing, scientific & rational. To understand it better in a fuller sense, one has to read these English books : (i) Vedic Concept of God - by Swami Vidyananda Saraswati (ii) The Brahmasutra - a new approach - by Swami Vidyananda Saraswati (iii) Critical Study of Philosophy of Dayananda - by Swami Satyaprakash Saraswati (iv) Philosophy of Dayananda - by Pandit Gangaprasad Upadhyay (v) Enriching Life - by Dr. Harish Chandra (vi) Man and His Religion - by Swami Satyaprakash Saraswati , etc. These books are available in N.Delhi (pl contact - web http://www.vedicbooks.com/

I think none of them may be available on web. These are written by eminent authors of Aryasamaj and most useful in understanding Dayananda's philosophical views.

hi all,

I came across Pandith Gopadev Githa book (TELUGU) in 1998 given to me by childhood friend dad.
I read Gopadev's githa, bits and pieces and after 4 years, I read his other writings such as satyardha prakash, Pathanjali yoga darshan, ishavasya upanishad, sansakara vidhi.
I am dedicated to propagate his teachings by distributing his books to libraries all over Andhra Pradesh with the help of shri Shatranjaya garu, Arya samaj Kuchipudi, Tenali AP.
If anyone wants Shri Gopadev speech on esha vasyaupanishad, I can send them the CD.
I also request, can anyone give me the list of aryasamaj addresses in AP, so that I can send Gopadev books to them this year
