"4.6 billion years ago.... Earth dia. - 12,756 KM, The Sun's dia- 13,92,000 KM. The Sun like a sea of flame, is never still. Restless and seething, it is the star nearest Earth, so it is the star we know best.... It would require about 3,33,000 Earths to equal the Sun's mass. But more than a million Earths could fit inside. This is because the Sun's volume is greater. ...The Sun is an average size star, but it dwarfs our planet. About 109 Earths could fit side by side across the diameter of the Sun. By bouncing the radar signals off the Sun and timing their return, we can measure the Sun's distance from us - about 150 million kilometers. If we could fly to the Sun in a jet airline traveling 1,000 kilometers an hour, the journey would take us about 17 years. But if we traveled at the speed of light - 3,00,000 kilometers a second - we would make the trip in only eight minutes !..The Sun is composed mostly of Hydrogen, with some helium and other elements."
